Microblading — also known as feather touch, micro-stroking, or brow embroidery — is a form of cosmetic tattooing that creates hair-like strokes by depositing pigment into the skin. While microblading is still offered selectively, nano machine hair strokes are now the primary technique used due to their versatility, longevity, and natural healed results.
Nano Brows vs. Microblading
Nano Brows (Nano Machine Hair-Stroke Technique)
Nano brows, also known as nano machine hair strokes, are a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique used to create soft, natural-looking eyebrows. This method uses a digital tattoo machine with ultra-fine needles to implant pigment into the skin with precision and control, creating individual hair-like strokes that closely mimic natural brow hair.
Because the pigment is implanted in a controlled and consistent manner, nano brows allow for greater detail, improved longevity, and minimal trauma to the skin. This technique is suitable for most skin types, including oily or mature skin, and is designed to heal subtle and undetectable over time. With proper care and maintenance, results typically last 1–3 years.
Microblading
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo procedure performed using a handheld tool with a fine blade rather than a tattoo machine. Pigment is manually deposited into the upper layers of the skin to create hair-like strokes that resemble natural brow hairs.
Because microblading does not use a machine, pigment is implanted more superficially, which may result in shorter longevity depending on skin type and lifestyle. Results generally last 6–36 months. Microblading is best suited for select skin types and requires careful consideration to ensure optimal healing and long-term results. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to maximize comfort.
Technique Recommendation
While both techniques can create beautiful results, nano machine hair strokes offer greater versatility, precision, and longevity for a wider range of clients. For this reason, nano brows are now the primary technique recommended for achieving natural, realistic, and long-lasting brows.
Process
Nano Brows is at least a 2 session process. (Advanced Technique)
The first session is 2-3 hours and second session is around 2 hours (4-6 weeks after the 1st procedure).
Microblading and Shading is at least a 2 session process
The first session is 2-3 hours and second session is around 2 hours (4-6 weeks after the 1st procedure).
During the first session, I will measure and draw the shape of the eyebrows with a Golden Ratio Caliper tool. The shape is then agreed upon before blading or machine hair strokes begins. Clients are numb, there is next to no pain.
